I've stopped asking clients, teams, or partners what do you want. Because most of the time, they don't really know. Not fully. Not yet.

What they usually have is noise. Opinions, urgency, pressure, deadlines, maybe even fear. But what they need is clarity. And clarity rarely comes from giving people what they ask for. It comes from helping them see what actually makes sense.

So sometimes I don't ask. I tell them this is what makes sense for you right now. Not as arrogance. Not as control. But as alignment.

Because my job isn't to please. It's to guide. To help them see the difference between what sounds good and what will actually work. To build something that lasts instead of something that trends.

Working like this isn't always easy. Some people resist it. They want instant answers, not uncomfortable truth. But over time, the ones who stay, the ones who trust the process, always see why.

That's how I choose to work. Not as a designer who executes requests, but as a partner who builds direction. Not chasing approval, but alignment.

Because the goal isn't to give people what they want today. It's to help them build what they'll thank you for tomorrow.
